The Take-Away-of-the-Month for this month is “Business-Case”.
It is hard to argue that having effective contract management processes in place would not be a benefit to an organization of any size. It just makes good business sense to streamline and optimize processes that reduce error and protect the business. So why does your contract management initiative always seem to be project number eleven on a plate of ten?
The most common answer is that a proper business-case has not been made to the executive management team that clearly spells out the benefits (and more importantly – the ROI). In order to move your CM/CLM initiative up the propriety list of projects, you need to compete for scarce resources and funds.
